Крафт, сбор ресурсов, исследование, полёты в космос, разработка технологий, поиски друзей и нахождение себе врагов… А так же свой собственный космический корабль. Starbound – это свобода. Игрок волен взаимодействовать со всем и делать всё. Но какая свобода без вклада коммьюнити? Лейт-мотивом Chucklefish и Starbound является общение с пользователем. У разработчиков есть целая команда людей, собирающая отзывы и идеи игроков на форумах и доносящая их до ушей игроделов. Обзор модов для Starbound

Моды для Starbound – это пользовательские модификации игры, так или иначе изменяющие игру, её наполнение или геймплейную механику. Или всё вместе. В силу специфической графической части (я напомню, игра в полном 2D с пиксельными спрайтами), все моды для Starbound носят исключительно геймплейный характер. Пользовательские причёски для персонажей и одежда не в счёт. Благодаря обширной специфике игры и практически неограниченным геймплейным возможностям, моды для Starbound могут делать всё, что угодно. Кастомные корабли, планеты, предметы, рецепты для крафта, компаньоны, оружие, навыки, биомы… Как насчёт слетать на модель Пандоры из кемероновского Аватара? Или спуститься под воду неприметной планетки и обнаружить там полноценную реплику Восторга из Bioshock? Моддинг предметов и ресурсов, технологий и 3D-принтера. Хотите распечатать своего собственного Огромного Боевого Человекоподобного Робота и пойти сеять хаос среди мирных селян? Надоело каждый раз для крафта телепортироваться на корабль? Current Features

Ultimate Box.
The backbone of the mod. This box will provide all items that are added by the mod. This can be seen as the backbone of this mod, and the start of where you can decide how much you want to make use of this mod. In short, if you don"t use this box, this mod won"t affect you.

Spawning items
With the addition of three new custom crafting tables (the Spawning Box, the Furniture Box and the Weaponn Box) which can craft all items from the vanilla game and gives you the possibillity to craft all weapons from Starbound. On top of that, two seperate duplicators are added. There"s even custom filter buttons for all of the boxes to find the items you"re looking for that much easier! If you want to get just a few more of a building block or furniture piece, the duplicator is there for you. One for duplicating one item at a time, one for duplicating a 100 at a time. Sadly, neither the two spawning boxes OR the duplicators work with randomly generated items.

Tech enhancements
This mod adds it"s own custom tech, called the Creative Mode Flight. It offers complete air control without energy cost. Good for building massive projects or just flying around for fun. Also adds an item that unlocks all tech in the game for your character.

Tier by tier unlockers
Items that can unlock Starmap upgrades one sector at a time, and items that can unlock crafting tiers one tier at a time. Of course, the vanilla Starmap upgrades are also in the Spawning Box to use. (Currently on hold in Upbeat Giraffe as starmap upgrades changed fundamentally)

The Ultimate Chest
A chest with 256 inventory slots. Helpful for storing those materials while building a big project!

Combat enhancing items
A set of invincible armor, an overpowered gun and an overpowered sword. For those moments you either want to build or test something without having to worry about enemies.

Liquid spawning guns
They"re guns that spawn liquids. Yay.

Other helpful items
There"s quite a few items that can help make gameplay easier (for building, for example) or help you get back to the point you were before a character wipe. There"s a way to spawn pixels. There"s a panacea that has a high fuel value, heals you and gives you other boosts. Oh, and there"s a super matter manipulator, for clearing those bigger areas faster.

Ship Upgrader
This will unlock the blueprint for the Condor Class ship. It also gives you 10 upgrade modules so you can upgrade it without any problems.

Tool Unlocker
An item that unlocks the AI Command that allows you to get the three basic tools.
The Matter Manipulator, Wiring Tool and the Paiting Tool.

1. Remove any CheatArmor, CheatEquipment or CreativeMode folders if you installed this mod previously. This is important.
2. Click that fancy download button and wait for it to complte.
3. Unpack the .rar file and copy the Creative Mode map to X:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound\giraffe_storage\mods
4. Start up Starbound. Then press the Crafting button (Standard C) and craft the Ultimate Box.
5. The Ultimate Box is placeable. Place it down and press the interaction button (Standard E).

Venturing onto an unexplored foreign planet is a bit like emigrating, but instead of immediately setting up a bank account, renting a flat, and/or hiring a car your primary is concern is, well, staying alive. In interstellar sandbox adventure [official site ] there are plenty of moon-bound monsters out to get you from the off – be that of the biome, procedurally-generated or unique variety – so it’s absolutely essential your house/ship/pithy gathering of dirt and mud is in order quick snap.

Luckily, Starbound packs quite the selection of mods to help that along. The following should give you an extra leg-up before the extra-terrestrials get you.

Inventory Interface Redone and Weapons Stats

Inventory Interface Redone is a handy mod to install early on which reconfigures how your inventory interface is displayed. As can be seen in the header image above, by rotating the items pane and running it vertically on one side allows enough space for text identifiers to fit alongside the five main criteria. With that slight adjustment, everything else suddenly feels like it’s in the right place, and what at first may seem like a pretty insignificant tweak makes juggling your inventory so much easier over time.

Once the critters come calling, you’ll want your finest weapons at hand too. Weapons Stats displays item level, the damage per second (DPS) and the damage per energy (DPE) for swords and guns. This is based on raw damage only – therefore abilities and combo attacks aren’t factored in – however this is a neat quality of life mod that should help you organise your offensive.

Container UI Tweak and Improved Containers

The Monica Geller-level of clerical organisation continues with both Container UI Tweak and Improved Containers.

First the former, which is another superficial display tweak that separates your inventory and containers windows with a much wider margin offered by the game’s v1.1. “This mod changes four pixels (as standard in v1.1) to 160 pixels, which means you must manually move the inventory window to the left once,” reads the creator’s blurb. It’s worth noting that, unfortunately, the Container UI tweak isn’t compatible with the aforementioned Inventory Interface mod. While I personally prefer the one listed above, I like this one enough to recommend it here on the off-chance you lean this way instead.

Improved Containers simply allows containers to be renamed, sorted and quick stacked which should boost your organisational needs to no end.

Compact Crops , Craftable Seeds and Efficient Watering

Right, now all of that boring secretarial stuff is out of the way let’s get onto the fun stuff. Like gardening. Hey, you guys and gals gotta eat. And if you wanna survive… look, we spoke about this already. Anyway, Compact Crops halves the required space for large horizontal-lying crops that in essence makes for more crops on less land.

Following this, Craftable Seeds allows you to create all seeds and certain saplings – not to mention new Mushroom Seeds and Thorny Plant Seeds; and new saplings from Alienfruit, Mushrooms, Coconuts, Red Apples, and Plant Fibre – directly from crops and fruits. Simply open the new ‘Seed Maker’, craftable via your Inventor’s Table, and create away to your heart’s content.

Then of course you have Efficient Watering. There’s perhaps not another Starbound mod out there that is so simple yet so satisfying. It lets you water your crops without those pesky cool-down times. It decreases the overall time it takes to water crops. And, crucially, it lets you water while walking. Perfect.

Earth’s Finest – Crew Improvements and Instant Crafting

Okay, so it’s finally time to seek some help out in the celestial wilderness, but everyone you’ve happened upon so far is completely handless. Enter Earth’s Finest, a mod that improves the crew system by greatly increasing the strength and services of your entourage. With balance in mind, each class gets treated to their own unique stats making crew choice top priority.

Outlaws, for example, receive reduced health and regeneration capabilities, however can deal greater damage, have increased invulnerability time after being struck, and can run faster than before. Likewise, Soldiers are afforded higher damage rates, and increased health. “Additionally, your tailor will now consider your head slot items for your crew’s uniform,” says the mod’s creator, which is a nice touch.

With Instant Crafting, you can put your newly-formed motley crew to work. Much similar to how crafting functioned in Starbound’s earliest days, Instant Crafting disables the more recently introduced timer on crafting tables so that everything you turn your hand to is created instantaneously.

Explorerpod , XS Mechs – Vehicle Edition and ZZ Mech Modifications

Now, onto the real fun stuff.

Once you’ve settled on your once foreign planet, how are do you plan to further explore? You could use the hoverbikes Starbound offers as standard. But you’re BETTER using Lukky’s Explorerpod mod which adds a host of two-seater Explorerpod vehicles that can be claimed via Penguin Pete’s Vehicle Lot in exchange for a healthy sum of pixels. Oh, and not only can these hovercrafts skoot from surface-to-air-to-space – they can also dive deep as fully-submersible ships.

But then again, is this the best way to get around? I mean, what if you get attacked while flying around in the pod? Wouldn’t it be nice to ensure your safety too? Of course it would, which is where both XS Mechs and ZZ Mech Mods come in. The former adds a suite of ultra-cool mechs which boast lasers and turrets and cannons and skull heads and rail guns and whole range of other artillery and neat designs. ZZ Mech Mods then asks: “Love using XS Mechs? Ever wish your mech could stand out from the stock mechs? Then look no further,” before adding even more mechs to the mix.

To gain access to this, you’ll first need to have completed Floran boss mission, before visiting Penguin Pete who’ll offer a new quest. Ultimately, he points you in the direction of an illegal mech dealer – who deals in special weapons, mech, and a mech recolouring scheme. Be warned, though, the dealer ain’t cheap.

As happens with all the best sandbox game, a huge and creative community has attached itself to Starbound. While the game"s still in Early Access, through the use of mods you can expand it into something more varied, more vibrant, and specifically tailored to what you want it to be. Here are ten of the best mods, chosen from the many now available in Starbound"s .

Before we get to the mods, first download the Starbound Mod Manager. The game doesn"t yet offer official mod support, but this third-party application does a great job of installing the files for you. It doesn"t matter where you install it, as long as you tell it the location of your Starbound install. You"ll most likely find that in your Steam directory, by default in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound".

Once it"s set up, you can install new mods by dragging and dropping their zip files into the main window of the Mod Manager. If compatible, it"ll automatically unpack the files, and let you install or remove them with a single click.

Creative Mode

Or, to give this mod the alternative title I just made up, "hello, I"m a massive cheating cheat" mode. Ostensibly, Creative Mode allows you to spawn building materials for the purpose of terraforming a chosen planet into a paradise of your own design. But in addition, it puts complete god-like power into a selection of handy workstations. The mod"s "Ultimate Box" is available for free inside the crafting menu, and inside you"ll find an item spawner, Tech unlocker, Super Manipulator, and more. It"s great for its stated purpose, and also for turning you into an instant badass of unstoppable power.

The Tabula Rasa

Due to the type of mods popular in Starbound, some of the most useful downloads are almost entirely administrative in their design. This, admittedly, is not very exciting, but—like filing your taxes or regularly checking your oil—opens up the potential for hassle-free future excitement.

Tabula Rasa is both administrative and essential. It adds a giant obsidian tablet to the crafting menu that gives instant access to items added by other mods. It"s a great way to cut down on the confusion that can be caused by multiple installations. If there"s an extra you need, you"ll almost certainly find it here.

Simple Extended Character Creation Mod

The fourth mod in this list and we"re only just getting to the giant mechs? I know, I"m sorry. Hopefully the massive firepower offered by XS Corporation Mechs will make up for the delay. It bolsters Starbounds limited mech selection with an additional six hulking power-suits. As well as looking brilliant, each has a unique set of abilities and weapons. The Sigma Mech, for instance, offers a huge cluster-bomb attack, while the Rho Mech features a “Graviton” beam that pulls enemies into range of its powerful plasma lathe. The materials required for each Tech schematic ensures they aren"t (too) overpowered.

Pixel Goods Store

If Animal Crossing, Wildstar and the entire concept Ikea prove anything, it"s that people will happily spend hours painstakingly choosing, buying and arranging furniture. The Pixel Goods Store brings that philosophy into Starbound, with a special store that contains a variety of furnishings and decor to compliment your constructions.

With it you can buy items ranging from beds, chairs, appliances and electronics, as well as a selection of things themed around each race. In all, there are over 300 new items included. Many of them are completely non-functional, but they nevertheless expand your potential to add personality to your home.

После того, как вы установите программу, распаковка новых модов будет проходить довольно быстро. Достаточно перетаскивать скачанные архивы в главное меню Mod Manager. Если мод совместим с утилитой, то она автоматически распакует файлы, позволяя установить или удалить мод буквально за один клик.

Данный мод можно окрестить и более подходящим именем – «Сборник читов для всех читеров». На самом деле, Creative Mode позволяет создавать материалы для строительства или для терраформирования очередной планеты, чтобы превратить её в настоящий рай. Но при этом мод наделяет игроков неограниченными возможностями по созданию предметов. В меню крафта вы найдёте «Гигантский сундук», внутри которого находится генератор вещей, предметы по разблокировке технологий, Супер Манипулятор и многое другое. Мод отлично справляется со своей задачей, попутно превращая вас во всемогущего героя.

Учитывая тематику самых популярных модов в Starbound, большинство из самых полезных обладают довольно скромным дизайном. Их нужно воспринимать как нечто рутинное (вроде заполнения налоговых деклараций или проверки автомобиля), что в будущем поможет избежать лишних проблем.
К подобным модам относится и Tabula Rasa. Мод добавляет огромную обсидиановую табличку в меню крафта, дающую доступ к вещам из других модов. Это позволяет избежать конфликта нескольких одновременно установленных модов. Если вам понадобятся предметы из недавно вышедших модов, то перед этим лучше всего установить Tabula Rasa.

Для Starbound существует немало модов, добавляющих новые расы, и только вам решать, какие из них достойны закачки. Быть может, вы хотите стать , или ? Всё зависит только от ваших предпочтений. Но перед этим обязательно установите данный мод, позволяющий переключаться между расами. Он добавляет новые слоты в меню создания героев, куда будут заноситься сгенерированные персонажи.

Лично мне нравится простое меню «Расы из модов», представленное в Simple Extended Character Creation. Но если у вас закончатся слоты, то установите Xbawks-mode Character Creator за авторством пользователя Kawa, где вы найдёте более расширенную альтернативу.

Четвёртый мод в данном списке, и мы только сейчас добрались до гигантских роботов? Приношу извинения за задержку. Надеюсь, огневая мощь героев из XS Corporation Mechs сумеет загладить мою вину. В данном моде в меню выбора костюмов Starbounds появляется шесть новых огромных механических робо-костюмов. Выглядят они превосходно, и каждый из них обладает уникальным набором навыков и оружия. К примеру, Sigma Mech может стрелять залпом из бомб, а Rho Mech предлагает игроку опробовать гравитационный луч, затягивающий врагов в смертельные потоки плазмы. При этом для каждого костюма необходимо собрать определённые материалы, что несколько усложняет процесс.

Если игры Animal Crossing и Wildstar (и вся концепция Ikea) чему-то нас и научили, так это тому, что люди с удовольствием готовы тратить часы на выбор, покупку и сборку мебели. Мод Pixel Goods Store переносит эту философию в мир Starbound, добавляя в игру магазин, где представлена масса мебели и элементов декора, призванных украсить ваши постройки.

Здесь вы можете купить абсолютно всё: от кроватей, стульев, кухонной утвари и электроники до специальных для каждой расы вещей. Всего в моде содержится 300 новых предметов. Большинство из них – это обычные элементы дизайна, но они, тем не менее, способны внести разнообразие в ваше жилище.

Инструменты Starbound могут стать прекрасной музыки в умелых руках, но для этого нужно приложить немало усилий. Для начала нужно найти нотный стан для выбранной мелодии. А затем придётся искать подходящий музыкальный инструмент по всей вселенной. Но есть приятная альтернатива: достаточно лишь установить мод Mighty Music, чтобы моментально открыть сотни мелодий и несколько инструментов.

Здесь содержится 2 000 мелодий, собранных из различных игр, фильмов, сериалов и аниме. Что касается музыкальных инструментов, вас ждут новые синтезаторы, барабаны и, внезапно, консервная банка с бобами.

В Starbound и без того представлено немало пещер – в случайно генерируемых лабиринтах встречаются враждебно настроенные создания и полезные предметы. В любом случае, новые пещеры вам точно не навредят; вернее, навредят, но предложат довольно интересные задания. Именно за это многие и полюбили мод Dungeoneer Dungeons. Он увеличивает вероятность генерации очередной пещеры – как большой, так и маленькой. А внутри вас может ждать как очередной мини-босс, так и настоящая военная база, буквально кишащая врагами. Мод также добавляет в игру вулкан, который, как указывают сами разработчики, примечателен тем, что «это не совсем пещера, а просто огромный и классный вулкан».

В Vanilla Starbound есть несколько основных NPC, но если вы хотите, чтобы ваш корабль выглядел более живым, то вам стоит скачать данный мод. Он добавляет полностью новый экипаж, каждый член в котором обладает особыми навыками и уникальным характером. Более того, каждого из них перед этим нужно спасти, пройдя цепочку квестов в пещерах. Квесты эти запускаются после того, как вы одолеете Дредвинга на обучающем уровне, и вносят элемент разнообразия в игру.

Примечание: из-за новых файлов мода в директории ‘universe’, он несовместим с утилитой Starbound Mod Manager, а потому устанавливать его нужно вручную.

В Starbound по умолчанию и без того находится немало представителей флоры и фауны на каждой планете, однако Variety is the spice of the Universe увеличивает их количество в несколько раз. Он добавляет 50 новых планет с уникальной растительностью и животными, новые погодные эффекты и даже мелодии. Он также добавляет планеты без кислорода, а это означает, что вам придётся создать специальный защитный костюм, чтобы оценить всё великолепие новых планет.

Примечание: из-за добавления новых видов растительности и животных, данный мод может конфликтовать с другими. Перед его установкой совместимости с другими модами.

Мод Dye Pack позволит внести яркие цвета во все виртуальные миры. Через новое меню Dye Station terminal вы сможете изменить цвет практически любого предмета или материала. Данный мод поддерживает не только стандартные игровые предметы одежды, оружие, объекты и блоки, но и те, что представлены в прочих модах, в том числе и в Pixel Goods Store.

Стоит добавить, что этот мод отлично работает и мультиплеере. Есть даже специальная версия под названием Vanilla Compatible Server Edition, позволяющая обладателям мода Dye Pack полностью использовать его функциональность, причём посетителям сервера даже не придётся скачивать данный мод.
